The project started with discovery and a series of collaborative design workshops to begin to visualize what the experience might look like. Based on input and research, we built a prototype for user testing to validate an approach. I was the creative director on the project leading a cross-functional team of UX and visual designers, while personally doing the content design for all phases of the project.


We then started the executional phase of the project, mapping out the flow and designing the first release

As the team moved into design, I created a fast-moving lifestyle and financial questionnaire that would feed the results, which displayed a retirement lifestyle "mission statement" and a financial snapshot of how the user's savings could support it.
Lots of different content was created to account of different scenarios, e.g, income shortfalls, which would be displayed dynamically based on user responses.
I also created deep-dive topic pages which dealt with some of the key decisions that transitioners would have to make, like when to downsize or take Social Security.



After a breakneck first release, we worked on a second, which would include functionality for users to experiment with changing different aspects of their finances to see how it would affect their retirement income situation.
